Yin Yoon,

A good starting point for finding both a grant writer and sources of
funding is the Association of Fundraising Professionals, which has
chapters all over the country. The Silicon Valley Chapter, which is
where I am, sends out periodic job openings to their e-mail list. A Los
Angeles area chapter may be able to post your position opening, and may
also lead you to grant research sources. AFP can be contacted at:

For funding sources, take a look at the web site of the Foundation
Center, www.fdcenter.org. The Center has several libraries around the
country. I've visited the one in San Francisco, which is open to the
public without a fee. They do, though, charge for workshops and
training services. They also have a searchable program for locating
granting foundations suitable to your organization. It's accessible on
their web site for a monthly fee, but it's also available in their
libraries, and in some affiliate libraries. In a city the size of Los
Angeles, there should be another such organization serving your
nonprofit community, and it just might have the foundation database
available for your use. You might check with development staff at
another nonprofit organization in your area for local resources.

Good luck.
