Peter:
Absolutely! We hosted Quilt National last year and had a wonderful turnout.
It seems that anyone who would come out for a traditional quilt show will
also turn out for an art quilt show. They will, however, want to touch
everything. You'll need extra-vigilant security guards because the quilt
ladies just can't keep their hands off the fabric. Nonetheless, we've
booked QN again in 2007 because of the tremendous response. There is also
a traveling show called "Voices in Cloth: Story Quilts" which recently ran
in Hattiesburg on the USM campus - it, too, had an excellent response.
Voices in Cloth featured six quilt artists, including Faith Ringgold. They
brought Ringgold in for a lecture and she filled the auditorium.
