Associate Payroll Manager

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an 
Associate Payroll Manager for the Finance Department.  The Associate Payroll Manager is responsible for processing biweekly payrolls in a union/non-union environment and ensuring that all employees are paid accurately, on time, and in accordance with IRS regulations, state, and company procedures and policies. The Associate Payroll Manager will ensure all quarterly and annual company payroll taxes are reported and filed in an accurate and timely manner; coordinate all facets of tax filing using Lawson for multi-state payroll processing; assist in processing company W2's; provide primary or secondary support and maintenance of all payroll related systems including Lawson Payroll, and other payroll system tools, such as ADI; provide primary support for all employee questions, which requires tactful, professional and consistent communication; and supervise, coordinate and provide leadership in addition to training of staff. 

Successful candidates will possess 3 + years experience supervising a four-person payroll team in a multi-state environment. Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently on special moderately complex projects.  Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.  Also, must be detail oriented and have the ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately.

BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or other related field required. General knowledge of accounting principles required.  Knowledge of Lawson payroll or similar application preferred.
