Karla, By contracting with a school bus company to transport your summer
campers off-site, you can reduce your liability issues. And once you
draw up medical information forms, waivers and permission slips for the
camp, have the forms vetted by the museum's (or college's) legal counsel
and insurance carrier. Good luck with your program!

Subject: liability/waivers for programs

Hi all,

We are going to be running a week-long archaeology summer camp in June
and will be taking the kids (5th - 7th graders) off site to do field
work for two days. I realize this poses an interesting liability issue
and I'm wondering if and how others have dealt with this. Since we are
affiliated with Beloit College, I have asked around here but there is
nothing in place of this nature since all of the field schools we do are
for adult students. Also, if anyone would be willing to share any
waiver/medical type documents that you have used for your programs I
would be grateful for the help.

Thank you in advance,

Karla Wheeler
