Lawyers letters should ALWAYS be responded to by a lawyer. This is one
reason it's always nice to invite a lawyer to sit on your BOD, if you don't
already have one.
Us non-lawyers do not know the landscape well enough to be able to properly
communicate what needs to be communicated in these situations while still
protecting out institutions and our individual selves.
And remember that the correspondence you've sent and received here on this
mailing list may now be used in any court case (I don't know if it can,
only that it may). Make sure you tell YOUR (museum) lawyer that you sought
advice through this forum. They'll need to know because if the patron can
be identified through any of this, there may be further trouble.
Cheers,
Bob
