Actually, I do know of an artist who creates installations where he intends
for this activity to happen.  It's very interesting to watch peoples'
reactions when they are allowed to participate in creating their own art
museum experience.

And of course we can't forget Fred Wilson, who stuns most curators when he
selects objects from their collections and reinstalls them out of
traditional context to illuminate their subtext.  With minimal labeling, I
might add (at least, at first he did).
