Hello,
I work at a Historic House in Northern NJ and we had a
cannon onsite last July 4th. It sat about 30 feet
from the house and was shot off 2 times. After the
second time a huge chunk of our plaster ceiling fell.
They have shot the cannon in the past and after
talking about it, it is my understanding that the
charge used this time was to large.
I am unsure if the curator will allow the cannon to be
shot again. It has been shot in the past without
incident, you just have to remember that it is a risk
none the less.
I wish that I could give you hard facts. Hopefully
someone else will come through. I can only say be
careful, especially if you don't have a big
repair/restoration budget.
