The Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Chicago, IL, is seeking a
Manager of Museum Communications reporting to the Vice President for
External Affairs.

The Manager of Museum Communications is responsible for planning,
implementing and evaluating a broad range of marketing communications that
position the Adler with key audiences.  Increasing attendance and earned
revenues, and broadening the Planetarium’s served audience are primary
goals.

Duties and responsibilities:  Manage relationships with international,
national and local media; develop and implement a marketing communications
strategy; publish/edit the AdlerStar magazine; manage internal
communications systems to support the Adler web site, sponsor fulfillment,
earned revenue programs, and staff/Trustee communications.

Education required:  A BA degree in journalism, communications or a
related field; an MA degree in journalism, communications or a related
field is preferred as well as some knowledge of astronomy and science.

Experience required:  Five to eight years of increasing responsibility in
public relations and/or marketing communications.

The beginning salary range for this position is $45,000.  Salary is
commensurate with education and experience.
