Director of Development
For our client, a premiere visual and performing arts center in New York, we
are seeking an experienced professional with a minimum of 5 years in
fundraising to direct and manage all aspects of development. The Director
of Development will work closely with the President and CEO of the center to
develop and implement a fundraising plan for the organization’s activities.
Responsibilities will include: Identification, cultivation and solicitation
of prospective individual, corporate, foundation and government donors;
developing strategies for upgrading current donors; creating a planned
giving program; helping to establish and recruit members for the center’s
Business Council. The Director of Development will also coordinate the
annual Board President’s Appeal and will oversee a part-time grant writer,
and the special events/membership/volunteer coordinator and the development
associate positions. The successful candidate will have strong written,
interpersonal and communication skills with preferred experience in the

an advanced degree in museums studies or a related field, and a minimum of
10 years experience in a leadership position at an art museum or related
