Indianapolis staged a public art event with decorated race cars in
conjunction with this year's Indianapolis 500 race. It was called "Art in
Motion" and it was sponsored by (and raised money for) the 500 Festival
organization. They put out a really glitzy catalogue, had a gala auction
and everything. It ended up OK, but they had a lot of process difficulties
due to their inexperience with working with artists.
For more information, http://www.500festival.com and click on the "Art in
Motion" text in the upper right. Be prepared for a lot of flash animation.

Subject: Arts/cultural fundraisers related to sports events
Has anyone been involved with a fundraiser tied to a high visibility sports
event such as the Olympic Games, NCAA Final Four or Super Bowl or something
like that?
