Hi Kaytie,

I suspect this is the same John Friedlander you seek:

A brief mention here (http://www.higherart.com.au/main_artists.htm) of both
Hiroshi Asada, Bertrand Dorny and Arthur Luiz Piza having joined John
Friedlander's atelier in Paris.
