Historian II
(Part-time, 39 hours per week)

MUSEUM DIVISION
COLLECTIONS SECTION

STARTING HOURLY SALARY $11.77 PLUS BENEFITS

DEADLINE FOR RECEIVING APPLICATIONS: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2003


This position involves work  that is highly professional in nature. It
involves managing the storage, retrieval, and location of collections;
administering the Disaster Preparedness Plan; conducting research
cataloging, re-cataloging, and photography of the museum's collection;
administering incoming and outgoing loans; performing collections care
procedures to minimize risks to collections; performing updates to
computerized collections records; and serving on the Exhibits Planning
Team.  Incumbents work under the general supervision of the curator,
however, incumbents may have supervisory responsibilities in their section.

Education and experience must meet one of the following criteria:

Master's degree from an accredited  four-year college or university

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university,
and one (1) year of related experience

Substitution Statement:
Experience in a field acceptable to the employing authority and
education acceptable to the employing  authority may be submitted on an
equal basis.
