Hello,

I just received a call from a lady asking me about a tablecloth she recently
inherited. She says the tablecloth is from WWI or WWII. She says it is a
very large square tablecloth made from cream colored silk with cream colored
tassels and has a design (in the weave) of bonsai trees, huts, rivers, and
canoes. She was asking me if there was any way to determine where it would
have been purchased. It was purchased during the WWI or WWII travels of the
person who acquired. The tablecloth has 8 matching napkins and none of the
items have ever been used (not that this bit of info is relevant).:-)

Since I don't have a clue about tablecloths, I seek the wisdom of the
listserve. Is there a reference book for tablecloths, or does anyone know
anything about similar tablecloths? Please respond on or off list,
whichever you feel is appropriate.

Thanks in advance for any leads to sources of information regarding this.
