EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH MANAGER*

ARIZONA STATE CAPITOL MUSEUM

The Museum Division of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public
Records is accepting applications for the position of Education and
Community Outreach Manager.  Starting salary for this position is in
$36,000-$42,000 range plus benefits.  State employment benefits include
health, dental, life and disability insurance, retirement fund, deferred
compensation, annual leave, and sick leave.

Description of Duties:  The Education and Community Outreach Manager reports
to the Museum Director to plan and conduct educational programs for the
Arizona Capitol Museum. The position also supervises the Education Section
staff, serves as the director of the Division's volunteer program, prepares
press releases, Division newsletter and other public relation information,
plans and conducts special events and assists Exhibit Section in planning,
research, preparation of exhibit, promotional material and evaluation.

This position requires a Master's degree (PhD preferred) from an accredited
college or university in education, museum studies, American history or
related field; teaching experience in one of those fields; AND four years of
relation technical experience.  Knowledge of Arizona history, Arizona
government and the Arizona State standards for social studies is required.
Oral and written communication and public relations experience expected.
