        You can see such roadside memorials in Italy and I will bet all
other European countries as well. By the way, the freedom from excessive
supervision on the roads (no highway patrol, etc) means that people drive
too fast and the rate of fatal accidents is horrendous. So, the memorials
are everywhere.
