and no one's mentioned the duck tours!? lots of fun and a great way to be outdoors and see the city's growth over the years...

- isabella gardener museum is lovely. the MFA is also wonderful though their blockbuster exhibitions get quite pricey.

- harvard has a number of interesting museums all near each other: the fogg art museum (fine art) and the sackler museum of islamic and indian art (apologies if i'm getting the names wrong from memory) sometimes they even have interesting lectures and panel discussions.  they're also located in harvard square which is always crowded on nice days and weekend with students, street performers and sometimes street vendors. 

- if you have a chance to get out of boston for a bit (it's a bit tricky with the trains if i remember correctly), check out the contemporary worcester art museum in worcester, mass. 

- the science museum is also great fun. 

dont forget to enjoy boston's great architecture with walking tours either with a book or by yourself. check out www.boston.com for listings of events.
