Friends, here is a long shot request. The Appalachian Cultural Museum
is about to open a new exhibit on the history of the Hickory Chair
Company. Among other things, this company is known for producing a high
quality line of 18th century reproduction furniture called the James
River Collection. They began manufacturing it in 1941. We are still
looking for a few more pieces of the pre-war James River line. If you
happen to have any (there will be a decal on the side of a major drawer
with a crest that includes the words James River), would you please
contact me? Thanks.
