From culturally sensitive tourism to environmentally friendly development, western North Carolina is a pioneer in creative economies. Hear about their methods for crafting a successful model for economic development, to the tune of $122 million annually, and learn how it can work in Houston. Presented by Becky Anderson, executive director of Handmade in America, a nonprofit community development and cultural tourism organization that has been rated one of the top 20 arts nonprofits in the country by Worth magazine.
