Position: Collections Manager
Duration: 6 months
Stipend: $8,500 ($1,416 per month)

Reporting to the curator and working with the museum's registrar, the
collections manager will oversee completion of the automation project
and subsequent inventory of the Bennington Museum collection. Numbering
over 60,000 items, the museum collection includes such diverse items as
fine art, decorative art, archives, photographs, ephemera, historical
objects, and much more. Many of these objects are simply not recorded
and will require complete cataloging. The collections manager will
create a plan to carry out the inventory and oversee a staff of
volunteers and undergraduate interns. The collections manager should
have a working knowledge of modern cataloging practices, care and
handling, and preventative conservation. Computer proficiency is a must
for this position. Familiarity with the PastPerfect software package is
ideal.

Please send cover letter, resume, and three references to address
below. More information on the Bennington Museum can be found on our
web site at www.benningtonmuseum.org. Please call or email with any
questions.

Thanks,

Stephen Perkins, curator
