The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington and Small Jewish Museum
seek an experienced, poised, responsible individual with an interest in
local Jewish history and with prior programming experience to organize
student, children’s, and family educational programs.  A background in
Jewish Studies is preferred as is a Masters in Education or Museum
Education.

Responsibilities include organizing all aspects of children’s and family
programming including curricular development.  A primary emphasis will be
with creating and marketing a school program in conjunction with religious
and day schools, revamping our current programs, surveying curricular
standards and school needs, developing school contacts, creating and
marketing an ongoing program of offerings including managing our living
history productions—all in accordance with our Strategic Planning goals.
Ability to work as a “self-starter” and as a member of our staff team is a
must.  Also requires creating and managing materials and learning areas
devoted to children and families in our exhibits and historic synagogues.

The position is full time with some evening and Sunday hours as programs
dictate.  Salary range $32,000 - $38,000 depending on experience. Good
benefits.

The Society and its Museum are dedicated to preserving local Jewish history
through exhibits, collections, and unique educational programs including
interpreting historic sanctuary spaces.
