Information Technology Manager

Our client, a prestigious estate museum in Washington, DC, seeks a Network
Administrator with top-notch Novell, Windows NT, and Microsoft Office skills
in a large multiuser (90-person) environment. Responsibilities include
administering the Novell network; monitoring, evaluating, and
troubleshooting systems hardware and software; providing strategic direction
for museum’s functional and interpretative technology projects, including
project management, technical design, and implementation; functioning as web
administrator to monitor, maintain, and update the museum’s website; and
coordinating technology needs. The system includes general administration
and word processing, a collections management program for objects, an
admissions system for tickets (VISTA), and eventual development software.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic “people” person, deftly capable of
interacting with curators, educators, volunteers, and others, as s/he will
be working closely with various departments to update and revise long-term
technology initiatives. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
field, current certification for Novell & Windows NT networks, broad
experience supporting a range of database applications in PC and network
environments, familiarity with web-based and multimedia technologies, and
excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required. Salary and
benefits are competitive. This position reports to the Executive Director
and is available immediately. Applicants should submit cover letter and
resume through www.artstaffing.com as Word attachment only. Please indicate
position title in the subject line of your email.
