The Museum Loan Network (MLN), (http://loanet.mit.edu) ,administered by the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Office of the Arts) and funded by
John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, is
looking for a Program Associate (PA). The Program Associate works with the
Director in the planning, implementation and oversight of program
initiatives and is an essential partner in establishing strategic
objectives for the MLN. The Program Associates work with the Director to
review, research and evaluate grant proposals. The PA screens and evaluates
grant proposals for eligibility, completeness and potential long-term
impact on the national museum community; works with applicants to create
significant projects and prepares proposals for review by national Advisory
Committee.  The PA monitors progress of funded projects and partnerships
and maintains a growing national research database of museum objects.  The
PA  works with the Director and consultants to establish and implement a
communication, marketing and development strategy for the MLN, including
publication production. The PA works with the Director  and Administrative
Assistant to create budget and oversee financial expenditures, including
financial reporting to outside funding organizations. The PA communicates
with the national museum community about the mission and goals of the MLN,
represents and lectures about the MLN at national museum meetings and works
with the Director to plan and execute national meetings involving
educators, museum professionals, artists, and funders. QUALIFICATIONS:
Program Associate must possess a Masters Degree in art, history, museum
studies or other related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience
in museums or museum -related field.  Must have strong knowledge of current
museum practice, possess excellent written and oral communication skills,
demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and ability to think
creatively and analytically.  PA must be able to work independently and
travel as needed. Experience working with museums' exhibitions and/or
educational programming a plus. Knowledge of financial/budgeting process
and strong computer skills essential with experience in database
technology.  Salary range $40,000- $45,000. Excellent benefits
