We have adapted many of our school outreach programs for seniors - these consist of our permanent collection programs and materials that we have from the National Gallery of Art Lending Affiliate program.

I think one key issue is to make sure that you send a live body! It is so important for srs. centers to have visitors and to keep the programs interactive - i.e. discussion. We have had centers borrow videos, but I always send someone to disucss the video afterwards.

Other things to think about -
Time - no more than 45 minutes
Sound - make sure there is a sound system, or invest in a portable system. Hearing is a major issue.
If you are doing slide programs, make sure you have a distance lens - images that are too small will not work.
Time of day - right after lunch is deadly! Go for mornging or mid afternoon or early evening.
