Here's a good one for you. Our former board president is on the board of the
church our organization is affiliated with, and he called me asking what
could be done about sap oozing from 100+year old pews on very hot days. The
church enjoys using the old meeting house in the summer that has these pews
but the congregation is coming away with sticky clothes! The first concern
is preservation -- preserving the patina and not "refinishing." Someone on
the board used a product that was supposed to prevent the "bleeding" but it
didn't work at all. Any ideas? Cheap is the operative word. I'm thinking
it may be time for some sort of covers on the benches.
Thanks so much,
Candace Perry
