Dear Brent: There are few resources re museum leadership articles. I have
been running leadership seminars and workshops for individual museums,
boards, and AAM for about 4 years, and have adapted various leadership
theories for the museum community. This, coupled with my own experience
working in museums both here and abroad, bring value to the sessions. I
have found that the combination of Warren Bennis, the Goleman group (primal
leadership and emotional intelligence) and some practical Dale Carnegie work
well with this community. Our upcoming e-newsletter will include a column
on leadership -- how to foster and encourage leaders in every department.
We've seen museums become relevant for audiences; the next challenges are
making them better places to work in and, of course, compensation. If you'd
like to receive our e-newsletter, just email me. All good wishes, Cheers,
Geri
