Dear Friends,
As you may know, the Historic Hackensack Water Company site in Oradell, NJ,
was listed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of their
2002 "11 Most Endangered Historic Places."

On Saturday, July 6, 10 PM, on the History Channel, a show "Save our
History," will show the Hackensack Water Co. site and discuss the needed
preservation of these 11 important national historic places.

In addition, The Atlantic Monthly Magazine, July Issue, will also have an
article on the "11 Most Endangered" including the Hackensack Water Co. Site.

Also, ARCHIT (which is really Architect's Magazine - but they abreviate the
word on the cover), will also include the site in a larger article on the "11
Most Endangered" in their July issue. The Magazine is available at Barnes
and Noble and Hudson News if you do not have a subscription. OR - you may
contact Sarah Moss to get a subscription at:

Subsequently, NJ DEP Commissioner Bradley Campbell has granted a 1-year
extension to consider Bergen County's request to alter the site and required
that the County protect the site from rain, wind and weather and vandals. It
is hoped that Commissioner Campbell will use his good offices to bring
together all the stakeholders and help develop a reasonable solution that
will preserve this historic site and use most of the 62-acres remaining for
an environmental park and natural open space area.

STAY TUNED.
