Hello Everyone,

I work for a small, private art museum. Our director has resigned and the
board wants to offer the job to their second choice from a year ago without
performing any search. The arguement is that since we are a private
non-profit without funding from the government, except in grant form, we do
not have to do any kind of search. Is this legal? I seem to recall from
somewhere that a museum has to do search or it jeopardizes the non-profit
status. I may be way off, but I would appreciate some feedback about this
situation.

Thank you very much!

Meegan Carr
