I have observed the ruckus caused by the skateboarding
discussion and largely stayed out of it, though I must
say it has amused me greatly.

It has reminded me of the fact that every generation
believes the one that follows is going to hell in a
handbasket. Those damned skateboarders, those
ungrateful hippies, those beatniks, those flappers . .
.

I think Lori said it best when she said mutual
tolerance and respect.

I am 110% convinced those young people were rude and
petulant, but what set them off? Was the dialogue
open and respectful going the other way, or was it
laden with though shalt nots?

I don't want to know. I just hope that some think
about that. Me, I think the up and comings are
grand--after all, if all goes well and it doesn't
completely disintegrate, they'll be paying for my
Social Security and Medicare!

God love em all!!!

Only really bad experience we had on a skateboard was
in the Ed Sharpe Days when my sis fell off and got a
compound fracture of her wrist. She got special
treatment while the rest of us, who didn't get hurt,
did not. Now that's something to rue!
