The National Museum of American History, Behring Center will open "September 11: Bearing Witness to History" on the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks.  We realize that many of the Smithsonian family were directly affected by these events and that many of you have family and friends who may be interested in this exhibition.
 
The Museum has made arrangements to open one hour early during the weekdays of Sept.16-20 and Sept. 23-27 to provide access to SI staff and to families and rescue workers of September 11.  
 
The Museum is also planning a special private preview day for the families of the victims, the survivors, and the rescue workers on Sept. 8.
