Established in 1974, the Public History Program at Wright State
University in Dayton, Ohio integrates a traditional American history
curriculum with courses taught by professionals in archives, museum
studies, and historic preservation as well as an internship, and a
project leading to a Master of Arts degree in History with a
specialization in Public History. Our alumni work in museums and
archives around the country as well as throughout Ohio. We also offer
two certificate programs in Museums Studies and Archives and Records
Management for those who have earned an MA in a related field.

Students may compete for tuition scholarships and graduate
assistantships as well as full university graduate fellowships. We have
several graduate assistantships in area archives as well as students in
coop positions with area museums. Dayton is home to many
museums, archives, state historic sites, and cultural organizations
including the Dayton Aviation National Historic Park and the U.S. Air
Force Museum. Please visit the Public History Program Website at
