Job opening at The Morton Arboretum, Lisle, Illinois:

POSITION AVAILABLE: Visitor Programs Coordinator

CLASSIFICATION: Part-time 

DEPARTMENT:  Visitor Services


General Summary: Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate visitor programs and activities, with special focus on weekend and peak season visitor events. Work schedule includes some evening work, according to visitor programs schedule, and one weekend day (usually Sunday).

Job Qualifications
Previous Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree from any of a broad range of fields, and two years' experience in public programs or events preferred. Other recommended skills include: management and organizational skill; children's education; public relations and customer satisfaction skill; above average written and oral communication skill. Must be able to manage a schedule of regular programs, all at various stages or planning, execution, and evaluation.

Physical/mental Requirements
Must find satisfaction in working with the public and children, specifically; must have the ability to motivate others, manage events, and accept responsibility. Excellent skills in planning, organization, and supervision. Must be available to work some evenings (according to events schedule) and at least one weekend day.
