One museum where I worked offered unpaid
internships to history students. We worked
very closely with the head of the history
department. When we needed an intern we
would give him a description of the job, the
length of time it would take, etc. He
would then pick out several students who
he thought would be interested and would do
a good job. We then interviewed the
candidates and picked the one most suited to
what we needed. If I remember correctly,
the student got college credits for the
work he/she did for us. Hope this helps.
