If you post your e-mail address, I would be happy to send you our photo
policies, as well as our Deed of Gift form. The deed specifies that the
Society has rights to the photo as part of the property tranfer, and we also
use this form when we make copies of the photos.

You are right to be concerned about this. Most of our photos were collected
in the early 1970s in this manner. Some are copies and some are originals
that people gave to a founder of the society when she was writing a book.
The founder then donated the photos and the copies to us, and she signed the
deed. But original owners didn't sign anything. Now we are limited in the
ways we can use these photos, because we are not certain we have rights to
the images.
