I work for a small contemporary art exhibition space and art center.
Normally our exhibitions are in our gallery space and the signage is very
minimal. We usually have one large sign for each show (paper on foam core)
with a statement and funding credits. Our checklist with info on the
individual pieces was in the form of a brochure that visitors can take away.

We have recently partnered with a performing arts academy to present
exhibitions in their space for their students and visitors. Most of the
people that come through this space are children and parents. In order to
attract the kids to and engage them with our exhibitions we have decided to
place small blurbs on the wall near each piece. However, I'm having a hard
time finding a good way to hang these little signs. Paper on foam core
doesn't work because it's very fragile and kids WILL touch them. This isn't
a formal gallery space so we don't have "guards" or any control over the
space at all. I was thinking about paper behind or inside plexi, but i can't
find a company that has these types of products in stock. Most that I've
found will customize these signs but I would prefer to avoid this route
because I think it will be too costly.

Looking for reasonably priced creative solutions! Any suggestions are much
appreciated.

Thanks!
