The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, near Chicago, IL, will have 3
part-time intern openings available in June: one in graphic arts, and two
in museum operations. All positions are non-compensated but the experiences
are staff-level and qualify for academic credit.
GRAPHIC ARTS applicants should be skilled in basic design, including
preparing files for production. Need working knowledge of Quark, Photoshop
and Illustrator (PC environment). A great chance to build your portfolio as
you design and produce brochures, direct mail pieces and similar print
materials.
MUSEUM OPERATIONS interns will focus on four departments: Education,
Volunteer Services, Marketing and Tours. Duties will include supervising
classes, leading tours, contacting the media, off-site volunteer
recruitment AND MORE. Computer literacy needed to produce reports and work
in databases. Some exposure to other departments such as merchandising and
curatorial. If you need experience interacting with the public (25% of our
visitors are international) as well as behind-the-scenes, this is the
opportunity you've been looking for.
Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters of undergraduate work
and be able to negotiate our historic, non-accessible buildings.
