And how about the taxpayer in Arlington, Va. who decided a $540 state income
tax on his $100,000 income was too low.  This week he sent several thousands
as gifts to a few public schools in the impoverished southwestern Va.
mountains, explaining that the gifts were in lieu of the taxes he thought he
should be paying.
