Renne wrote< Our museum is developing an exhibit and will be feel that there
should be a formal contract that stipulates the dates and deadlines needed
for the text. Does anyone out there have a sample that we could look at?>

I thought it appropriate to remind the list that the MUSEUM RESOURCES
section of Global Museum
http://www4.wave.co.nz/~jollyroger/museum_resources.html
has been operating for the past two years and include subsections for:

* marketing
*disaster planning
*world heritage
* archives
* conservation
*anthropology resources
*artefact analyses
* software utilities and
* general resources

The rationale for Global Museum when it was established over three and a
half years ago was to be a one-stop-shop for colleagues to pick up
information. Its worldwide use to date has confirmed this need and
interest.

I would encourage colleagues to share their resources and linking documents
by contributing to the ongoing development of this already well established
section.

Word documents, such as the contract samples Renne is seeking, can be sent
to me at [log in to unmask]
and I shall convert them to pdf files for ease of download and place them in
the appropriate area. Better still if you have an online resource to share
(or recommend) let me know its content and web address.

So visit the MUSEUM RESOURCES section and have a look for yourself -
everything from a 'Top Ten Ideas for dealing with Complaints' and 'Managing
Pests in Your collection' to ' Museum Cleaning schedules"
http://www.globalmuseum.org and click and the RESOURCES button. Easy to
navigate and without any of those annoying advertising popups

with best wishes to the list

Roger
