MEET MICHELLE L. SCHNEIDER

Hello! Currently, I am finishing a Masters in
Non-Profit Management at Regis University (Denver,
CO). My undergraduate degree is in Archaeology and
Geology from Boston University.

I have both museum and fieldwork experience, but
decided on a career track with more job diversity than
archaeology after having difficulty getting long-term,
full-time work in Collection Departments and bouncing
around in contract fieldwork.

Presently, I am working in the general non-profit
field because of the sparseness of museum jobs in
Colorado.

By summer, I am looking to move to the east or west
coast to expand my range of job possibilities within
the cultural arts – although my main goal is to work
at a maritime museum.

I am looking for a mentor that could advise me on how
I can make myself more marketable in today’s difficult
economy. I am also interested on any insight a mentor
might give on how to succeed well in development,
membership or volunteer management positions and if
pursuing a Masters in Museum Studies would be
beneficial in these jobs.
