Visitor Studies and Evaluation Coordinator
Part-time (3-days/ wk, 9am - 5pm)

General Description:

Assist manager with the overall program of audience research at Shedd
Aquarium, including seasonal studies of general and group visitors, exhibit
evaluation and program evaluation. Job duties include assisting with major
projects, overall management of selected projects and providing logistical
assistance for the department. This is a growth position and new duties and
responsibilities will be delegated as opportunities arise.


Responsibilities:

Develops data collection protocol, train and schedule staff and volunteers,
supervise data collection/entry. Performs data analysis of existing data and
new projects and prepares charts using database programs. Writes reports and
presents results to variety of in-house audiences. Serves on planning teams
as assigned. Designs and tests evaluation instruments.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (M.A. preferred) in museum studies, education, marketing,
social sciences or a related field. Two years experience in survey research,
museum programs or related work, or the equivalent education and experience.
Experience in designing and conducting research and evaluation projects.
Quantitative and qualitative approaches to data collection and analysis
skills. Computer knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Some Saturday or Sunday hours to supervise data collection from weekend
visitors.

Starting Salary
$14-$16.50/hr
