Indigo, in my department we've taken a scholarly approach to the history of
wine and are pursuing a bona fide project on the subject, mixing our own
personal interests in wine consumption with history. Although I'm not
involved myself (yet), I understand that tastings are an occasional adjunct
to the "work." Nice work if you can get it, and I'm considering applying for
a position on the wagon, so to speak. Who knows--maybe it will expand to
other types of spirits as well.
