If any of you ever manage to get to the Napa valley, which I strongly
recommend even if you don't imbibe, nestled between Napa and Sonoma is a
beautiful winery called Domaine Chandon. Their speciality is sparkling
wines (by convention only those from the Champagne region of France can
market their products as "Champagne" even though the process is identical).
I'm not generally a sparkling wine fan, but this is utterly superb. As my
sister, who works there, says "little bubbles, little headache".
Oh, and if you do visit, ask for Kathleen Hiedinger ,and be sure to greet
her with "hi, Dinger!". She'll know exactly where it came from. You will
be treated to a most wonderful tour.
