The US government offers several very good newsletters
free of charge to the subscribers.  One seems like it
could be of special value to the museums community.
Government Sales offers "Daily notices, news,
announcements and descriptions of important government
surplus property and asset sales currently offered
across all federal agencies."  This might be a good,
low-cost way to pick up items your museum needs.
