Good Morning Sharon,
You may wish to:
1.) check out http://tip.psychology.org/index.html
This is a database of 50 learning and instructional theories.
2.) contact your local school districts (your customers) and find out what theory (theories) they are using and then,
3.) see if you can incorporate that (those) theory (theories) into your program design.....in order to produce a product that meets the needs of your customers.
I hope that you find this useful,

Hello!

I'm writing to find out what educational theories/processes have been adopted by practitioners of interpretation in museums and other cultural organizations. Seems that I remember constructivism being discussed a few years ago and wonder if anything new is on the horizon. A colleague told me that she once made a list of learning theories that had been adopted during her long and eminent career and came up with one for each of her 34 years in the business.

Is anyone picking up anything new on their radar screen? What have you found works best in interpreting exhibits - especially in history museums?

Many thanks for your thoughts.

Best wishes,
Sharon
