Senior Curator, South East Region
Pay band GBP 23,017 to GBP 34,072 per annum
[starting pay between GBP 23,017 and GBP 26,702 ]

English Heritage protects and provides advice on England's unique legacy of
historic buildings, landscapes and archaeological sites. We also manage
over 400 sites and welcome in excess of 11 million visitors to these each year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Curator to join the regional team. You
will be based in the idyllic Walmer Castle and Gardens near Deal in Kent,
where one of the two Royal Collection loans, for which you will be responsible,
is housed. You will manage the region's collections with the help of a small
team of Assistant Curators and report to the Assistant Regional Director.

The role of the Senior Curator is diverse and challenging. You will deal with
the public on a regular basis and the need to travel both within the region
and beyond will be frequent. A key focus of the post is the Dover Castle
store, one of seven MGC registered sites in the region, which features a
substantial collection of twentieth century military artefacts.

If you are a team player but also comfortable working without close
supervision, highly motivated and committed to sharing your passion for
the heritage and if you have the skill and knowledge to cope with everything
from gilding to gas masks and can combine determination to deliver with
flexibility and imagination this opportunity could be for you.

Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex]
