Curator of Community History
The Greensboro Historical Museum seeks a Curator of Community History to
join its profession staff. This position serves as the principle content
authority for the museum.
It also serves as the City's primary historical public liaison and
spokesperson
and acts as advisor and/or consultant to government, private and commercial
organizations,
societies, churches and individuals on the historical life in Greensboro.
The employee in
this position is responsible for presenting and representing the Greensboro
Historical Museum's
mission to the greater community. The position requires working with staff,
consultants and
scholars in the research and verification of historical facts, findings and
events; writing and
editing scripts including film, video and other media and publications.
Major duties include the
creation of exhibitions, activities and programs on an on-going basis.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in museum studies, history, public history or an equivalent
combination of training,
education and experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Southern history and/or North Carolina History
Five years experience in museum related work
Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal skills

Starting Salary Range $35,436-$39,300
