Visitor Services Intern – Job Description

The Lake County Discovery Museum’s Visitor Services Internship is a one-year
position designed to give a broad overview of the visitor services side of
museum work. The position focuses on the public side of the museum and the
activities that affect visitors. Areas of focus will be education, public
programming, assisting with the development of exhibit interactives, front
desk/museum store staffing, and working with volunteers. While this position
does not work directly with the collections and cataloging, the museum
collections play an important role in shaping the programs and activities
with which the intern is involved. There may also be opportunities to assist
with the development of exhibits in the museum’s special exhibition gallery.
