That's good advice from Max. We use PastPerfect here and it accommodates
several numbering systems that were used in the past. We have compiled a
"history" of the numbering system that reflects the rationale for the system
used and the date(s) they were in use. As Max said, you will likely create
more confusion trying to change old numbers than to leave them as they are.
