DUTIES:  The incumbent serves as Museum Project Director responsible for the Price of Freedom exhibition.  This permanent exhibition will occupy approximately 18,000 to 20,200 square feet, incorporate displays of artifacts with video, sound, and other interactive experiences.    Responsible for the overall vision, scope and content for this major Museum and Institutional project.  Shapes intellectual content and overall integrity of the exhibition, including physical and intellectual accessibility, inclusion of multiple voices, educational outreach and aesthetic value.  Oversee, direct and lead an exhibition team, divisional staffs and collections management staff to develop and organize ideas and themes for the project including planning, organizing, coordinating and control of the assigned project and the resources provided to ensure that goals and requirements are met.  Coordinates the object and graphic research and rights' acquisition process.  Oversees, directs and leads the team in the development of programs, activities, curriculum kits, Internet sites, and publications.  Serves as principal spokesperson for the project to all audiences including Museum and Institutional senior management, boards, donors, sponsors and collaborators.  Promotes the project at all levels and to the media.  
                                                	
QUALIFICATION:   Candidates must  have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level for which application is made.  Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
