Julie,

You may be interested in a project created by the Cincinnati Art Museum,
WCET-TV, and the Association for the Advancement of Arts Education. The
goals of this arts-based project is to help teachers teach the skills
and knowledge needed for the Ohio Proficiency Tests in math, science,
reading, writing and citizenship (grades 4-6) -- a good example of how
state education standards have directed one museum project. More can be
found on the website: www.behindtheglass.org

Good luck,

Amber Lee Stafford
Asst. Curator of Education
Cincinnati Art Museum

Subject: Research Question

Hello All--

I am currently a doctoral student in curriculum and instruction at Boise
State University and in the genesis of my dissertation research. I'm
interested in looking at how state education achievement standards have
affected museum usage, and how museums have changed to respond to state
standards. Has anyone out there done any research like this, or know of
anyone or any institution that has conducted this research? Any
information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
