THE ANONYMOUS REQUEST:

I have been lurking on the Museum list and I have
really enjoyed all of your informative postings. I
would like to ask your advice please.

I would like to pursue a job in the museum field  in
the UK. I have a psychology BA and I am pursuing an MA
in English.

You may be wondering why I want to get into this
field. Well, I work at an internationally known museum
in the US with works that span many, many centuries.

I have been working here as a researcher and I also
give tours (making me a docent).  I really do enjoy
giving tours and the amount of knowledge that is
needed to do this.  I would love to get into one of
the National Galleries if I could.

Reading all of the posts to this list, I have become a
bit discouraged since I do not have any "official" art
background.

Do you have any suggestions as to where I can start?
Any help that you could give would be greatly
appreciated.
